Press Release Body = Wellington, NZ - 23 February 2006 - Xequte today announced the release of MailList King v6.0, a major upgrade of their mailing list management software.
MailList King brings the functionality of a mailing list server to a PC, allowing users to easily create, manage and communicate with the people interested in their products or organization. MailList King integrates with all popular e-mail software (including Outlook and Outlook Express) or directly with mail servers to retrieve mailing list messages (such as subscribes, removals and undeliverable messages) and deliver automatic responses, double opt-in confirmations and personalized, rich text messages.
Version 6.0 is the most significant upgrade since the first MailList King release in 1999, incorporating over 250 changes and improvements. While enhancements are evident throughout the application, particular areas of focus have been performance and improved functionality and reliability when sending.
The most powerful new features of version 6.0 center on the delivery of messages, including a complete rewrite of the message sending infrastructure code to improve speed and enhance reliability. In particular, the delivery status of every recipient is now accurately monitored, allowing easy redelivery to failed recipients. Also all automated tasks, such as acknowledgement messages and automatic responses, are now delivered in a single batch for greater throughput.
A revamped Sending Tasks window functions as an \"Outbox,\" listing all of the active sending tasks and allowing users to review their status, edit their properties or restart any tasks that are paused or stopped due to error.
Automatic responses and welcome messages now support delayed delivery, e.g. automatically sending a subscription reminder every 60 days, or delivering weekly e-mail training courses.
Other sending improvements include a new progress dialog that displays the current success rate and includes a \"Pause Sending\" button so delivery can be suspended until later. Also, sending summaries are more informative and provide an option to automatically resend to any recipients that failed
A new \"Corporate\" edition of MailList King has also been released, which is designed to meet the needs of business customers. It offers sharing of mailing lists over a network and a set of remote management commands that allow the mailing list to be managed via e-mail (e.g. to export the mailing list or create and lock groups).
A powerful feature implemented for advanced users is conditional text, which allows messages to optionally contain text based on a member\'s database field, e.g. offering promotions based on the country of a message recipient or specifying different salutations depending on their sex.
Much development time was devoted to optimizing all commonly used functions, restructuring the database and improving data caching and buffering, making version 6.0 significantly faster in all areas than earlier releases.
New filters have been added to display the most active members or those that have not been active for a specified period. Filtering is now also more powerful with the ability to specify multiple search items, e.g. searching for the countries: France, Germany and Spain.
Various improvements have been made to HTML compatibility including support for background images specified in table cells and some commonly used, but non-standard, HTML fields. Version 6 is better at cleaning non-standard HTML for messages authored in Microsoft Word. Users can now also specify different HTML and plain text format signatures and message headers and footers.
Other improvements include a new Vacation command that allows mailing list members to temporarily disable delivery of messages, exporting and printing of member records and storage of each message used to subscribe a user (in order to comply with the Data Retention policy of some organizations). Membership graphs and statistics have also been enhanced with faster rendering, printing and grouping of data by month, quarter or year.
